Blog crushin': With lavender and lace

I'm no fashion blogger, but my entrance into blogging had a lot to do with fashion bloggers. At first glance, it may seem silly; you know, people taking pictures of themselves wearing all different things day after day. But then there's the writing. People are talking about clothes or the weather, and then they're talking something a little more, something different altogether. You get glimpses of the daily lives of people all across the world; you hear the inner monologues of other twenty- and thirty- and whatever-somethings. You learn, hey, I'm not as weird as I thought. You learn your body isn't the only one shaped that way, that your experiences and perspectives and ideas are reflected in places like New Zealand, Alaska, DC, Virginia, Missouri. There is the belief that our generation is fragmented, that we cannot band together and do something worth talking about, but who says we're not doing it already, that we're not already keeping record of the days as they are--not with sweeping generalization, but with painstaking detail and care.

I'm digressing. One of the main reasons I keep coming back to these blogs (and so many more) is because there are so many things I have yet to do, and on some level, these ladies keep me pushing for more, keep me dreaming big, working hard, and not giving up on the possibility. The possibilities.

All of that was just to say, that Kelsie Mcnair of With Lavender and Lace is one of those ladies. She posted this song yesterday, and I can't get it out of my head. She runs an adorable little handmade and vintage shop in Norfolk, VA. I can't wait to stop by when I visit my sister in Virginia Beach someday. Until then, I only hope I can be as bold as she.
